C.O.L.D.

C.O.L.D. is an acronym for Computer Output to Laser Disk that has become a predominant  universal data interchange medium. It is safe and reliable storage, offering relatively simple integration into the majority of platforms. It is also an economical replacement for microfiche and paper document archives with storage of data on optical disk, like as CD-ROMs.

The entire process is automated, from document capture to indexing. Providing high data integrity, high capacity and fast access times these discs are expected to last up to 100 years.

Storing large volumes of data on laser disk, as opposed to microfiche or microfilm allows the user to access and search captured information on a computer while avoiding the duplication and security costs of protecting physical documents or film.  It allows organizations to more readily distribute information.

C.O.L.D. is an advanced electronic management system that replaces printed reports and Computer Output Microfiche (COM) for the storage and retrieval of computer-generated data. Mainframe and mid-range computer-generated reports are automatically processed, indexed, compressed, stored, and made available on your network. Multiple users can easily gain access to the same report-based information simultaneously. Information is now at every users' fingertips and available for searching, sharing, analysis and exporting to other applications.

Return on Investment based on real dollar savings is surprisingly quick, and a very useful and responsive answer for those who rely on information for productivity, such as customer service, accounting, call center, and production personnel.  Productivity is significantly enhanced, and profitability is measurably improved.

Data from reports and files can be used in conjunction with report, data mining, and data warehousing software systems to provide integrated management tools to help make the most of your company's information resources.
